My goal with this blog is to share with fellow Canadians the contests, coupons and deals I have found that will hopefully be useful to my followers. None of these deals are my own, I just post the links. So make sure you read the conditions and rules of each contest or deal you are linked to. Thanks for checking me out and please share with your friends.
I have worn glasses since the age of four. I can remember all the awkward frames that were picked out for me: the "cat" glasses, the glasses with the crown sticker, and the ET branded glasses. That last pair got me quite a bit of ribbing! As an adult, it is a joy for me to be able to pick out my own glasses and feel comfortable wearing them.
Unfortunately, I have learned that paying for my own glasses is rather expensive. Once you factor in frames, lenses, and protective coatings; glasses can cost hundreds of dollars! And if you have children, you really need to have a spare pair on hand in case of "accidents." I was fortunate to discover EyeBuyDirect, a website that offers discounted eyeglasses and sunglasses.
You may wonder how you can possibly pick out glasses online. EyeBuyDirect has the EyeTry app; you can upload your photo and "try on" frames virtually. I tried on several frames before I finally picked out a pair that met my children's approval:
Aren't they cute? I usually pick out plastic--and purple--frames, but felt I needed a change. Metal frames make me look like a different person! I was able to follow the progress of my glasses on the EyeBuyDirect. Once I received notification that they were shipped, it was only a couple of days before I had them in my hands.
They looked even better in person! I tried them on and they fit pretty well. I can remember, as a child, having the optometrist bend the arms of my glasses to fit. I even remember my dad using a lighter on them to do the same! I had not trouble with the metal frames of my new glasses.
EyeBuyDirect is offering one of my readers to win a $30 voucher for their site. This can be used on any pair of glasses, excluding designer eyewear and sunglasses. The giveaway will run through May 16 and is limited to US and Canada. Void where prohibited.
Disclosure: I received a pair of eyeglasses gratis in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
